Step by step
Check the exact size
Look at the file's properties to confirm it is 500 MB or less. Anything slightly over needs a free account.
Upload in your browser
Open send.enzonic.com and drag the file onto the upload area, or tap to pick it from your device.
Pick an expiry
Choose 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days. Add a password or download limit if you like.
Share the link or code
Copy the link, or give the receiver the 6-digit code to enter at send.enzonic.com/receive.
A 500 MB file is an awkward size. It's a few minutes of phone video, a mid-sized software build, or a folder of high-resolution photos, and it's far beyond what email accepts. The good news: it fits within Enzonic Send's anonymous limit, so you can send it right now without making an account.
Quick answer
Drop the file into the box above, choose how long it should stay available, and share the link, 6-digit code or QR code. The receiver downloads it whenever they're ready. You don't need to keep the tab open after the upload completes, because the file is stored on Cloudflare's network rather than streamed from your device.
First, check the real size
"About 500 MB" and "500 MB or less" are not the same thing, and the difference decides whether you need to sign in.
- Windows: right-click the file in File Explorer, choose Properties, and read Size (not "Size on disk").
- Mac: select the file in Finder and press Command+I. The size is listed under General.
- iPhone: in the Files app, long-press the file and tap Get Info. For a video in Photos, swipe up on it to see details.
- Android: in the Files app, long-press and tap the three-dot menu, then File info or Details.
Operating systems don't always round the same way, so if the number reads 499 MB on one device and 523 MB on another, plan for the larger one.
If it's slightly over 500 MB
Create a free account with email or Google. It takes about a minute and raises the per-transfer limit to 2 GB. It also unlocks expiry up to 7 days, which helps when the receiver is travelling or slow to respond. See how to send a 1 GB file for that route.
You could also trim the file: export a video at a slightly lower bitrate, remove unneeded files from a folder, or split it in two transfers. But for most people the free account is the faster fix.
Sending from different devices
From a computer
Open send.enzonic.com in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Drag the file from File Explorer or Finder onto the upload area. On Linux and ChromeOS the same drag-and-drop works from the file manager.
From an iPhone or iPad
In Safari, tap the upload area. Pick Photo Library for a video you recorded, or Choose File to browse the Files app, including iCloud Drive. Keep the screen on until the upload finishes; iOS may pause uploads in background tabs.
From an Android phone
In Chrome, tap the upload area and choose the file from the picker. Large videos usually live in DCIM/Camera. The Enzonic Send app is another option if you share from your phone often.
What the receiver does
They have three ways in:
- Click the link you sent.
- Go to send.enzonic.com/receive and type the 6-digit code.
- Scan the QR code with their phone camera or the app.
No account, no install. If you set a password, they'll be asked for it before the download starts.
Picking the right settings for 500 MB
| Situation | Suggested setting |
|---|---|
| Receiver is waiting right now | 1 hour expiry |
| Sending to a colleague during work hours | 1 day expiry |
| Receiver may not check until the weekend | 3 days expiry, or sign in for up to 7 days |
| Only one person should download it | Download limit of 1 |
| File contains personal or client data | Password, shared through a different channel |
You can also delete the transfer yourself at any time once it's been collected.
Why 500 MB doesn't go through email or chat
At the time of writing, Gmail attachments top out at 25 MB and Outlook.com at 20 MB. Discord's free tier allows 10 MB. Even when a service accepts bigger files, it may compress videos and photos, which isn't what you want for a 500 MB original. The too big for email guide goes through those limits in more detail.
Honest limits
500 MB without an account is smaller than what some other free services allow anonymously. If you regularly send files well past that size, signing in gets you to 2 GB per transfer. Above 2 GB, you'll need to split the file or use a different service; the 2 GB guide explains your options.
Enzonic Send is free because it's ad-supported. Transfers are encrypted in transit and at rest, but not end-to-end encrypted.
Troubleshooting
- Upload stalls on mobile. Keep the browser in the foreground and the screen awake. Switch from cellular to Wi-Fi if the connection is weak.
- "File too large" message. The file is over 500 MB. Sign in with a free account and try again.
- Receiver says the link expired. The expiry passed or the download limit was reached. Upload again with a longer expiry.
FAQ
Can I send a 500 MB file without creating an account?
Yes. Anonymous transfers on Enzonic Send go up to 500 MB, so a file of that size works without signing up.
What if my file is 510 MB or 600 MB?
Anything over 500 MB needs a free account, which you can create with email or Google. Signed in, the limit is 2 GB per transfer.
Can I email a 500 MB file?
Not as an attachment. At the time of writing Gmail caps attachments at 25 MB and Outlook.com at 20 MB, so a 500 MB file needs a link-based service.
How long does the receiver have to download it?
Without an account you can choose 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days. After that the file is deleted automatically.
Does the receiver need an account or an app?
No. They open the link or type the 6-digit code in any browser. The Enzonic Send app is optional.
