How to Send a 1 GB File

A 1 GB file needs a free Enzonic Send account, which takes a minute to set up with email or Google. After that it's one upload and one link.

Up to 500 MB · Sign in for 2 GB

Step by step

  1. Sign in for free

Create a free account with email or Google. This raises the limit from 500 MB to 2 GB per transfer.

  2. Add the file

Drag the 1 GB file onto the upload area, or tap to choose it from your phone or computer.

  3. Choose expiry and protection

Pick an expiry of up to 7 days and add a password or download limit if needed.

  4. Wait for the upload, then share

Keep the tab open until the upload completes, then send the link, 6-digit code or QR code.

At 1 GB you've moved well past what email or chat apps handle, and past Enzonic Send's 500 MB anonymous limit too. The fix is a free account. Once you're signed in, a 1 GB file goes through the same simple flow as anything else, with room to spare up to 2 GB.

What you need

  • A free Enzonic Send account (email or Google sign-in)
  • A modern browser on any device, or the Enzonic Send app
  • A stable connection for the length of the upload

That's all. The receiver doesn't need an account or anything installed.

Step by step

1. Sign in

Click Sign in on send.enzonic.com and use your email or Google account. Signing in changes two things: the per-transfer limit goes from 500 MB to 2 GB, and you can keep files available for up to 7 days instead of 3.

2. Upload the file

Drag it onto the upload area, or tap to pick it.

  • Windows / Linux: drag from File Explorer or your file manager.
  • Mac: drag from Finder, or use the picker.
  • iPhone / iPad: in Safari, tap the upload area and choose Photo Library or Choose File (Files app, iCloud Drive included).
  • Android: in Chrome, tap the upload area and pick the file. Videos are usually in DCIM/Camera.

If you're sending several files that add up to about 1 GB, add them all at once. They'll be zipped in your browser into one download, with folder structure kept. See send multiple files for details.

3. Set expiry and options

Pick how long the file stays up (up to 7 days when signed in). Optional extras:

  • Password for anything private
  • Download limit of 1, 5, 10, 50 or 100
  • Title and message so the receiver knows what they're getting

4. Share it

Copy the link, or give the receiver the 6-digit code to type at send.enzonic.com/receive. In person, show the QR code and let them scan it.

Upload time: what to expect

Upload speed is usually the bottleneck, and home connections often upload much slower than they download. A rough way to estimate: check your upload speed in megabits per second, then remember 1 GB is about 8,000 megabits. At 40 Mbps that's a little under four minutes in ideal conditions; at 10 Mbps it's closer to fourteen. Real-world times run longer.

To keep things smooth:

  • Use Wi-Fi or Ethernet rather than mobile data where you can.
  • Keep the browser tab in the foreground on phones; iOS and Android may pause background tabs.
  • Avoid starting other big uploads at the same time, like cloud photo backups.
  • Plug a laptop in so it doesn't go to sleep partway through.

If the connection drops mid-upload, you may need to start again, so a stable connection helps. Once it finishes, though, you can close the tab: the file sits on Cloudflare's network until it expires or you delete it.

Typical 1 GB files and tips for each

File type Tip
Phone video (a few minutes of 4K) Send from the Photos picker in Safari or the Android file picker; the original is kept, not recompressed. More in send large video files.
RAW photo shoot Drop the whole folder; it's zipped with subfolders intact.
Game mod, build or installer If it's already a ZIP, it's sent as a single file.
Audio project or stems Zip the project folder so the receiver gets the same layout.

Does the receiver need to be online?

No. That's the main difference from peer-to-peer tools, where both people have to keep a window open at the same time. With Enzonic Send, you upload, close the tab, and the receiver downloads tonight, tomorrow or later in the week, as long as it's before the expiry you chose.

If 1 GB turns into 3 GB

The free account tops out at 2 GB per transfer. If your file grows past that, you can split it into parts or send it through a service with a larger cap. The 2 GB file guide walks through both options honestly.

Privacy and security

Files are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. They are not end-to-end encrypted. For confidential material, add a password, set a download limit of 1, and use a short expiry. For anything highly sensitive, encrypt the file before uploading. You can delete a transfer at any time from your account, and every file is removed automatically when it expires.

FAQ

Can I send a 1 GB file without an account?

No. Anonymous transfers on Enzonic Send are limited to 500 MB. A free account with email or Google raises the limit to 2 GB.

Is the account really free?

Yes. Enzonic Send is ad-supported, and the free account is what unlocks transfers up to 2 GB and expiry up to 7 days.

How long does it take to upload 1 GB?

It depends on your upload speed. On a fast home connection it can take a few minutes; on a slow or mobile connection it can take much longer.

Can I close the tab after uploading?

Yes, once the upload has finished. The file is stored on Cloudflare's network, so the receiver can download it while you're offline.

Can I send a 1 GB video from my iPhone?

Yes. Sign in on Safari, tap the upload area, choose Photo Library and pick the video. Keep Safari open and the screen on until the upload completes.
