Step by step
Upload the file
Drop a file or folder on the uploader above, or tap it on a phone to choose from Photos or Files.
Choose how long it lasts
Pick 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days. Signed-in users can choose up to 7 days.
Share the 6-digit code
Read out the code, send it in a message, or show the QR code. You can close your tab after the upload finishes.
Receiver enters the code
The other person goes to send.enzonic.com/receive or opens the app and types the code, whenever it suits them.
Send Anywhere popularised a simple idea: type six digits on one device, and a file appears on another. The catch is timing. The key only works for a short window, and the sender has to keep the app or tab open until the other side connects. If the receiver is busy, asleep or in another time zone, the key runs out.
Enzonic Send keeps the six digits and drops the timing problem.
Why the key expires on Send Anywhere
At the time of writing, Send Anywhere's 6-digit key mode works like this:
- The sender selects files and gets a key.
- The key is valid for about 10 minutes.
- Both devices need to be online while the transfer happens, because the file moves directly between them.
For longer-lived sharing, Send Anywhere offers links that last 48 hours. Plans change — check their site for current limits.
That direct design is a deliberate choice, and it has real advantages, covered below. It just does not suit every situation.
How Enzonic Send's code works instead
When you send with Enzonic Send, the file is uploaded to Cloudflare's network first. Then you get three ways to share it:
- a share link,
- a 6-digit code, and
- a QR code.
The code keeps working until the transfer expires, which you choose: 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days without an account, and up to 7 days when signed in. Because the file is already stored, you can close the tab, shut the laptop or lose signal. The receiver types the code at send.enzonic.com/receive whenever they are ready.

What Send Anywhere does well
To be fair to it:
- No upload step for direct transfers. On the same fast Wi-Fi, a direct device-to-device transfer can finish quicker than uploading to a server and downloading again.
- Files are not kept on a server in key mode, which some people prefer for privacy reasons.
- Desktop and mobile apps are available for many platforms.
If you and the receiver are both right there and ready, the 10-minute key is often all you need.
When a longer-lived code helps
- Different schedules. You send at night; a colleague downloads in the morning.
- Slow or patchy connections. The receiver does not have to keep up with your upload in real time.
- Several recipients. One code can be used by more than one person, up to any download limit you set (1, 5, 10, 50 or 100).
- Phones that sleep. A phone locking its screen mid-transfer does not break anything on the receiving side.
Practical tips for code-based sharing
Protect anything private. A 6-digit code is designed for convenience, not secrecy. For sensitive files, add a password and share it separately, or set the download limit to 1.
Use the QR across the room. If the receiver is physically there, showing the QR code is even faster than typing digits. The Enzonic Send app for Android and iOS can scan it directly. More in sending files with a QR code.
Folders work too. Drag a folder into the uploader and it is zipped in your browser with the folder structure kept.
Moving between your own devices. If you are just getting a file from your phone to your laptop, see phone to laptop transfers.
Limits to keep in mind
Enzonic Send caps transfers at 500 MB without an account and 2 GB with a free account, and daily quotas apply. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, but not end-to-end encrypted. It is free because it shows ads. If you need a code-based tool that never stores your file on a server, a direct peer-to-peer service such as Send Anywhere's key mode or PairDrop is the better fit.
FAQ
Why did my Send Anywhere key stop working?
At the time of writing, the 6-digit key in Send Anywhere's direct mode is valid for about 10 minutes and needs the sending device to stay online. After that, you need a new key or a link.
How long does an Enzonic Send code stay valid?
Until the transfer expires: 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days anonymously, or up to 7 days signed in. It also stops working early if you delete the transfer or a download limit is reached.
Do both devices need to be online with Enzonic Send?
No. The file is uploaded to Cloudflare's network first, so the sender can go offline and the receiver can download later.
Is Send Anywhere faster on the same Wi-Fi?
It can be. A direct device-to-device transfer skips the upload-then-download round trip, which helps on a fast local network when both people are ready at the same moment.
What is the largest file I can send?
500 MB per transfer without an account, or 2 GB with a free account.
