Smash has a loyal following because its free tier is generous with size. For a lot of daily sharing, though, the files are small and the priority is speed of the whole exchange: how fast you can get a file from your hands to someone else's. That is the job Enzonic Send is designed around.
How the Smash free plan works
At the time of writing, Smash's free plan gives you:
- Transfers up to 2 GB at full priority.
- Larger free transfers accepted but queued, so they can take longer to process.
- Links that last 7 days.
That is a strong offer, especially if you occasionally need to send something bigger than 2 GB and do not mind waiting. Plans change — check their site for current limits.
What changes with Enzonic Send
Enzonic Send focuses on the short path between sender and receiver.
A code instead of a long URL. Each transfer gets a share link, a 6-digit code and a QR code. If someone is sitting next to you, or on a call, reading out six digits is faster than pasting a link into a chat. They type it at send.enzonic.com/receive. More on that in sharing files with a code.
QR for phones. Point a phone camera, or the Enzonic Send app, at the QR code on your screen and the download opens. Handy for moving a file from a laptop to a phone without cables. See sending files with a QR code.
No account for most files. Anything up to 500 MB goes through anonymously. A free account raises that to 2 GB per transfer.
Tighter access control if you want it. Add a password, set a download limit of 1, 5, 10, 50 or 100, or pick a 1-hour expiry for something that should not stay online. You can delete the transfer yourself at any time.
The receiver does not need to be online. Files are stored on Cloudflare's network, so you can close the tab after uploading and the recipient downloads whenever they get to it.

When Smash is the better choice
There is no point pretending one tool wins every case.
- Files over 2 GB. Smash will take them on the free plan; Enzonic Send will not. A long video project or a big archive belongs on Smash or another high-limit service.
- 7 days without signing in. If you want a week-long link and do not want an account, Smash fits better. Enzonic Send's anonymous maximum is 3 days.
- A familiar name in creative work. Some clients already use Smash and know what to expect from its download page.
When Enzonic Send is the better choice
- You are sending something under 500 MB and want zero setup.
- The receiver is next to you or on a call and a 6-digit code is the fastest handoff.
- You want the file to disappear after one download or one hour.
- You are moving a folder and want it zipped for you; see sending a folder online.
Quick transfer, step by step
From a computer: drag the file or folder onto the uploader at the top of this page. Choose an expiry, optionally set a password or download limit, and wait for the upload to finish. Share the link, the code or the QR.
From an iPhone: in Safari, tap the uploader and pick Photo Library for pictures and videos, or Browse to choose from the Files app.
From Android: tap the uploader and Chrome opens the file picker; choose from Photos, Downloads or any connected drive.
To receive: open the link, or go to /receive and enter the code.
Things to know before switching
- Single files are sent exactly as they are; photos and videos are not recompressed.
- Daily quotas apply. They are generous for normal use but exist to prevent abuse.
- The service is ad-supported, which is why there is no paid tier to buy.

FAQ
Is Enzonic Send faster than Smash?
Upload speed depends mostly on your connection. The difference is in the steps: Enzonic Send needs no account up to 500 MB and gives you a code immediately, while large free Smash transfers may be queued behind paid ones.
Can I send files bigger than 2 GB on Enzonic Send?
No. 2 GB per transfer is the maximum, even with a free account. Smash accepts larger free transfers, though at the time of writing they are processed at lower priority.
How long do Enzonic Send links last compared with Smash?
Smash keeps free transfers for 7 days at the time of writing. Enzonic Send offers 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days without an account, and up to 7 days when signed in.
Do recipients need the Enzonic Send app?
No. A browser is enough: open the link or type the 6-digit code at send.enzonic.com/receive. The Android and iOS apps are optional and add QR scanning.
Is Enzonic Send private?
Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, can be password-protected, and are deleted at expiry. It is not end-to-end encrypted.
