Step by step
Drag the folder in
On a computer, drag the folder from File Explorer or Finder onto send.enzonic.com.
Let the browser zip it
The folder and its subfolders are packed into one zip archive in your browser, with the structure kept.
Choose options and upload
Pick an expiry, optionally a password and download limit, and upload the archive.
Recipient downloads and extracts
They open the link or enter the 6-digit code, download the zip, and extract it to get the same folder tree.
Sending a folder used to mean two steps: zip it yourself, then upload the zip. Many upload forms still reject folders outright or flatten everything into a pile of loose files, losing the subfolders that made the content make sense. On Enzonic Send you drag the folder in, the browser builds the zip, and the recipient gets your folder tree back exactly as you organized it.
Why structure matters
A folder is more than its files. A photographer's delivery has "Selects" and "Full set". A website export has css, js and images. A project handover has "Contracts", "Drawings" and "Invoices". Flatten any of these and the recipient has to rebuild the organization by hand, or worse, files with the same name in different subfolders collide.
Because Enzonic Send zips the folder before uploading, every path is kept. The recipient extracts the archive and sees:
Project-Handover/
Contracts/
Drawings/
Floor-1/
Floor-2/
Invoices/
the same as it looked on your machine.
Sending a folder from a computer
Windows
Open File Explorer, find the folder, and drag it onto the uploader at send.enzonic.com in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. You can drag several folders and loose files together; they all go into one archive.
Mac
Drag the folder from Finder onto the browser window in Safari, Chrome or Firefox. To send several folders, select them all in Finder with Command-click and drag them together.
Linux and ChromeOS
Drag from your file manager (Files on GNOME or ChromeOS, Dolphin on KDE) onto the page in any modern browser.
Once the folder is dropped in, the browser packs it. For large folders this takes a little time, since the zipping happens on your device before the upload starts. Then choose an expiry, add a password or download limit if you want, and upload. You get a link, a 6-digit code and a QR code. You can close the tab once the upload finishes; the archive is stored on Cloudflare's network until it expires.
Sending a folder from a phone
Phone browsers are more limited here. Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android generally let you select individual files, not whole folders. Two workarounds:
- Select many files at once. In the file picker, multi-select the files you need. They are zipped together into one archive, though without the original subfolders.
- Compress the folder first. On iPhone or iPad, open the Files app, long-press the folder and tap Compress. That creates a zip you can upload as a single file. On Android, many file manager apps offer a compress or zip option; it varies by phone.
If you are moving a folder between a phone and a computer regularly, see phone to laptop transfers.
How the recipient opens it
They download one zip file, then extract it:
| Device | How to extract |
|---|---|
| Windows | Right-click the zip, choose Extract All |
| Mac | Double-click the zip in Finder |
| iPhone / iPad | Tap the zip in the Files app |
| Android | Open it in Files by Google or another file manager and choose Extract |
| Linux / ChromeOS | Double-click or right-click and extract in the file manager |
Zip is supported natively almost everywhere, so they do not need to install anything. This also makes folders a clean way to move work across systems, for example from a Mac to a Windows PC.
Size and limits
- The whole archive counts. Up to 500 MB per transfer without an account, up to 2 GB with a free account (email or Google). Check the folder size before you start: right-click and choose Properties on Windows, or Get Info on Mac.
- Media is not shrunk. Photos and videos go into the archive as originals. Zip does not meaningfully reduce the size of JPEGs, RAW files or video, so plan around the full size. See sending RAW photos.
- Too big? Split the folder into two or three transfers by subfolder. Each one keeps its own internal structure. Above 2 GB in one piece, Enzonic Send is not the right tool; our guide to sending large files covers alternatives.
- Expiry is 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days anonymously, up to 7 days signed in.
Folder or loose files?
Use a folder when the organization matters, when there are many files, or when names might collide. Send multiple loose files when it is a handful of unrelated items; they are still zipped into one archive, just without a folder tree. Send a single file on its own when it is one file: it goes as-is, no zip involved.
Keeping a folder private
A project folder often contains more than you think: contracts, invoices, personal notes. Before uploading, scan the subfolders for anything that should not go. Then add a password, send it through a different channel than the link, and set a download limit if only one person needs it. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, though Enzonic Send is not end-to-end encrypted. See password-protected file sharing for details.
FAQ
Do I need to zip the folder myself first?
No. Drag the folder in and your browser creates the zip for you. If you already have a zip file, it is sent as-is like any other single file.
Is the folder structure kept?
Yes. Subfolders and file names are preserved inside the archive, so the recipient extracts the same layout you had.
How big can the folder be?
The whole transfer can be up to 500 MB without an account, or up to 2 GB with a free account.
Can I send a folder from an iPhone or Android phone?
Mobile browsers usually let you pick files rather than whole folders. Select multiple files, or compress the folder first in the Files app and send the zip.
Are my photos and videos compressed when the folder is zipped?
No. The original files go into the archive unchanged, so the recipient gets the same quality you have.
