Step by step
Check the file size
Right-click the file (or folder) and look at its size. Up to 500 MB needs no account on Enzonic Send; up to 2 GB needs a free account.
Upload it
Drop the file or folder onto the uploader above. Folders and multiple files are zipped in your browser automatically.
Set expiry and access
Pick how long the link lasts and, if you want, add a password or a download limit.
Send the link or code
Paste the link into the email or chat where you would have sent the WeTransfer link, or share the 6-digit code.
You drag a file into WeTransfer and get a message that you have reached your free limit. It usually happens at the worst moment: a client is waiting, or a deadline is today. This page explains what the limit is and gives you practical ways to get the file out now.
What the free limit actually is
At the time of writing, WeTransfer's free plan allows:
- 10 transfers per rolling 30 days, or
- 3 GB in total per rolling 30 days,
whichever you hit first. Free transfers expire after 3 days, and you verify your email, which creates a free account for you.
"Rolling" is the part that catches people out. The counter does not reset on the 1st of the month. Each transfer drops off the count 30 days after you sent it. If you sent five transfers on the 3rd and five on the 20th, you get five back around the 2nd of next month and five more around the 19th.
Plans change — check their site for current limits.
Your options, side by side
| Option | Cost | How fast | Best when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wait for the window to roll | Free | Days to weeks | The file is not urgent |
| Upgrade to a paid WeTransfer plan | Paid | Immediate | You send a lot every month |
| Use another free service for this file | Free | Immediate | You need it out today |
| Share from cloud storage you already have | Usually free up to your quota | Immediate | Recipient is fine with a Drive or OneDrive link |
| Split and send in parts | Free | Slower | Files are just over a limit somewhere |
None of these is wrong. If WeTransfer is part of a paid workflow, upgrading is reasonable. If you hit the cap once in a while, a second free tool for overflow is the simplest fix.
Sending it right now with Enzonic Send
Enzonic Send has no monthly transfer count. There are daily quotas to stop abuse, set high enough for normal use.
What you get on the free service:
- Up to 500 MB per transfer with no account.
- Up to 2 GB per transfer with a free account (email or Google sign-in).
- A share link, a 6-digit code and a QR code for every transfer.
- Expiry of 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days, or up to 7 days when signed in.
- Optional password and download limit.
The steps above walk through it. The recipient does not need an account, and you can close your tab once the upload completes because the file is stored on Cloudflare's network rather than streamed from your computer.
Be honest with yourself about size
Enzonic Send is smaller than WeTransfer in one important way: 2 GB is the per-transfer maximum even with an account. If your single file is, say, a 6 GB video export, Enzonic Send cannot take it in one piece. In that case:
- Export a smaller version if the recipient only needs to review it.
- Split a project folder into parts under 2 GB and send each as its own transfer.
- Use a service built for bigger files; our comparison of free transfer services lists some with higher caps.
For files between 500 MB and 2 GB, see how to send a 2 GB file.
Quick checklist before you send
- Total size is under 500 MB (no account) or 2 GB (free account).
- If it is a folder, drag the whole folder in; it will be zipped with its structure kept. See sending a folder.
- Expiry is long enough for the recipient to get to it. Signed-in users can choose up to 7 days.
- A password is set if the content is private, and you will share it through a different channel than the link.
- A download limit is set if only one person should get it.
If WeTransfer is still showing an error
Sometimes the message is not about the monthly cap at all. Things worth checking:
- Single transfer too big. A file larger than your remaining allowance will be refused even if you have transfers left.
- Not verified. An unverified email can stop a transfer from sending.
- Browser extensions. Ad or script blockers occasionally interfere with uploaders. Try a private window.
- Network drops. Large uploads on unstable Wi-Fi can fail partway. A wired connection or staying close to the router helps, on any service.
Avoiding the wall next month
If you hit the limit regularly, it helps to sort transfers by type. Keep WeTransfer for the client deliveries where its email notifications are useful, and route quick, everyday sends (a few photos, a PDF, a folder to a colleague) through a tool without a monthly counter. For small files, an email attachment may be enough; this guide on files too big for email covers where those limits sit.

FAQ
When does the WeTransfer free limit reset?
At the time of writing it is a rolling 30-day window, not a calendar month. Each transfer stops counting 30 days after you sent it, so capacity comes back gradually.
Can I send more than 3 GB for free in one month?
Not on WeTransfer's free plan within one 30-day window, at the time of writing. Other services set their caps differently; SwissTransfer allows up to 50 GB per transfer, while Enzonic Send caps each transfer at 2 GB.
Can I just make a second WeTransfer account?
That may go against WeTransfer's terms. A cleaner option is to use a different service for the overflow or upgrade if you need WeTransfer specifically.
What is the biggest file I can send on Enzonic Send?
2 GB per transfer with a free account, or 500 MB without one. For anything larger, split the files across several transfers or use a service with higher limits.
Will my recipient need an account to download?
No. They open the link or type the 6-digit code at send.enzonic.com/receive. No sign-up is required to receive.
