Step by step
Open send.enzonic.com on the sending device
On iPhone use Safari; on the PC use Edge, Chrome or Firefox. No account is needed for transfers up to 500 MB.
Add the files
On iPhone tap the upload area and choose Photo Library or Choose File. On Windows drag files or a folder from File Explorer onto the page.
Upload and get the code
Press send. When the upload finishes you see a share link, a 6-digit code and a QR code.
Open it on the other device
Scan the QR code on the PC screen with the iPhone camera, or type the 6-digit code at send.enzonic.com/receive on the PC.
Find the downloaded file
On Windows it lands in your Downloads folder. On iPhone it goes to Files > Downloads, where you can save photos and videos to the Photos app.
The short answer
AirDrop does not exist on Windows. Apple builds it into iPhone, iPad and Mac only, and there is no official Windows version. Websites offering an "AirDrop for Windows" download are not from Apple, and you should avoid installing them.
What you can do is get the same result: pick a file on one device and have it appear on the other a minute later. A browser-based transfer with a QR code gets very close to the AirDrop feel, and it works in both directions.
What Windows has built in, and why it doesn't help with iPhone
Windows does ship some sharing tools, and there are a few third-party ones, but they mostly stay inside their own ecosystem:
- Nearby Sharing in Windows 10 and 11 sends files between Windows PCs that are close to each other. It does not talk to iPhones.
- Android-focused tools. There are nearby-sharing apps for Windows aimed at Android phones. They are useful if you have an Android phone, but they do not cover iPhone.
- Cable plus Apple's or Microsoft's apps. Plugging the iPhone in over USB and importing photos works, but it is not wireless and it is mostly about photos.
So for iPhone and PC, the practical wireless route is the internet. That is where Enzonic Send fits: open it in Safari on the iPhone and in any browser on the PC, and the transfer moves through a link, a 6-digit code or a QR code.
Sending from iPhone to the PC
- Open Safari on the iPhone and go to send.enzonic.com.
- Tap the upload area. iOS shows a menu with Photo Library, Take Photo or Video and Choose File.
- Photo Library opens your photos and videos. Tap several to select them.
- Choose File opens the Files app, for PDFs, documents, zip files or anything saved in iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.
- Tap send. Keep Safari open until the upload completes.
- On the PC, open a browser, go to send.enzonic.com/receive and type the 6-digit code shown on the iPhone.
- Download. The file goes to your Downloads folder (press Ctrl+J in Edge or Chrome to see recent downloads).
If you picked several photos, they arrive as one zip file. Right-click it in File Explorer and choose Extract All. The detailed version of this flow, including tips on HEIC photos, is in iPhone to PC without iTunes.
Sending from the PC to the iPhone
This direction is where the QR code shines, because it skips typing anything on the phone.
- On the PC, open send.enzonic.com.
- Drag files or a whole folder from File Explorer onto the page. Folders are zipped in the browser with the structure kept.
- Upload. A QR code appears on screen.
- On the iPhone, open the Camera app and point it at the QR code. Tap the link banner that appears.
- Safari opens the download page. Tap download, and the file is saved to Files > Downloads.
To move a photo or video into the Photos app, open it in Files, tap the Share button and choose Save Image or Save Video. There is a fuller walkthrough in PC to iPhone.
How it compares with AirDrop
The experience is close, but not identical:
- Upload first, then download. AirDrop sends directly. Here the file goes to the internet first, which takes a moment on slow connections.
- Size limits apply. 500 MB per transfer without an account, 2 GB per transfer with a free account. For bigger jobs a USB cable is still the fastest option.
- No proximity needed. The PC can be at home while you are on the train. Files stay available for 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days anonymously, up to 7 days signed in.
- Encryption. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, but Enzonic Send is not end-to-end encrypted. Add a password if the file is private.
For a side-by-side table, see the AirDrop alternative page.
If something doesn't work
- The camera does not react to the QR code. Move closer, make sure the whole code is on screen, and check that QR scanning is enabled in iPhone Settings > Camera. The Enzonic Send app for iPhone also has a scanner; see apps.
- Upload stopped when the iPhone locked. Safari can pause when the screen turns off. Keep the screen on until the upload finishes.
- "Code not found" on the PC. Check the six digits, and check that the transfer has not expired or hit its download limit.
- Can't find the file on the iPhone. Open the Files app, tap Browse, then Downloads. Safari's default download location is in iCloud Drive; you can change it in Settings > Safari > Downloads.
FAQ
Can I install AirDrop on Windows 11?
No. AirDrop is an Apple feature for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and Apple does not offer it for Windows. Any download claiming to be 'AirDrop for Windows' is not from Apple.
What is the closest thing to AirDrop between an iPhone and a PC?
Scanning a QR code. Upload on the PC, point the iPhone camera at the QR code on screen, and tap the link. Going the other way, type the 6-digit code from the iPhone into the PC browser.
Does Windows Nearby Sharing work with iPhone?
Windows' built-in Nearby Sharing is for sending between Windows PCs. It does not connect to iPhones.
Will my iPhone photos be converted when I send them to the PC?
Enzonic Send does not compress or convert anything. iOS itself may hand Safari a converted copy when you pick from Photo Library; to send the exact original, save it to Files first and use Choose File.
Do both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
No. Transfers go over the internet and are stored until they expire, so the devices can be on different networks or in different places.
