Step by step
Export and collect
Bounce your mix or stems, or collect your session, into a single folder.
Drop the folder in
Drag it onto send.enzonic.com. Multiple files and folders are zipped in the browser with their structure kept.
Label it
Add a title and message with the song name, version, tempo and sample rate.
Share
Send the link, or give the 6-digit code to someone entering it at send.enzonic.com/receive.
Audio is easy to damage without noticing. A voice-note feature might turn your master into a low-bitrate file, and some apps quietly transcode what you attach. Meanwhile, a few minutes of multitrack WAV is already past most email attachment limits. If you are passing mixes to a mastering engineer, stems to a remixer or a session to a collaborator, you want the files to arrive exactly as exported.
Formats and what to expect
Enzonic Send does not inspect or convert audio, so every format goes through the same way. What changes is how much space your files take.
| Format | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| WAV | Uncompressed PCM | Universal in DAWs. Largest files. |
| AIFF | Uncompressed PCM | Common on Mac. Similar size to WAV. |
| FLAC | Lossless compressed | Usually smaller than WAV, decodes to identical audio. |
| ALAC (.m4a) | Lossless compressed | Apple's lossless format. |
| MP3, AAC | Lossy | Small, fine for reference listening, not for mixing. |
Doing the size maths
Uncompressed audio size is easy to work out: sample rate times bit depth times channels gives the bitrate. CD-quality stereo (44.1 kHz, 16-bit, 2 channels) is about 1,411 kbps, which is roughly 10 MB per minute. Double the sample rate or move to 24-bit and the size grows in proportion. A stems folder multiplies it again by the number of stems.
So a single stereo master usually fits comfortably under 500 MB. A full set of 24-bit stems for a long track may need a free account for the 2 GB limit, or a lossless conversion to FLAC.
Sending stems the way engineers like them
A clean stems delivery saves a round of emails. Before you upload:
- Start every stem at the same point, usually bar 1 or 0:00, so they line up when dropped into a new session.
- Use one sample rate and bit depth for all of them, matching the session.
- Name files clearly:
SongName_120bpm_Drums.wav,SongName_120bpm_Bass.wav, and so on. - Include a reference mix so the recipient can check they have rebuilt it correctly.
- Add a notes file if there are tempo changes, key changes or plug-ins printed into the stems.
Then put everything in one folder and drag it onto send.enzonic.com. The folder is zipped in your browser, subfolders included, so the recipient extracts one file and sees your layout. Sending a folder explains how that works.
Sending a full DAW session
Sessions reference audio files stored in different places on your drive. Collect everything into one location before sending, or the recipient will open a project full of missing files.
Ableton Live
Use File > Collect All and Save. This copies referenced samples and recordings into the project folder. Then drag the whole project folder in.
Logic Pro
A .logicx project is a macOS package, which is really a folder that Finder shows as a single file. To send it reliably, use File > Save As with the option to copy audio files into the project, then right-click the project in Finder and choose Compress. Upload the resulting .zip. See sending a zip file if you want more detail.
Pro Tools
Use File > Save Copy In with the audio files option selected, saving to a new folder. That folder contains the session file plus its audio, ready to drag in.
Other DAWs
Most have an equivalent "collect", "consolidate" or "save with media" option. Look for it before you upload.
If it is too big
Anonymous transfers are capped at 500 MB, and signed-in transfers at 2 GB. If your session goes past that:
- Convert WAV stems to FLAC, if the recipient's DAW reads FLAC. It is lossless, so nothing is lost.
- Remove unused takes and audio before collecting the session.
- Split the delivery: stems in one transfer, session and extras in another.
Zipping on its own will not shrink audio much. Compressing again in a separate zip tool before uploading usually just adds a step.
Who gets access
Every transfer has a link, a 6-digit code and a QR code. For unreleased music:
- Add a password and share it separately.
- Set a download limit, from 1 to 100.
- Choose an expiry: 1 hour, 1 day or 3 days without an account, up to 7 days signed in.
Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, though not end-to-end encrypted, and they are deleted automatically at expiry. As the sender, you can delete a transfer sooner at any time.
The recipient does not need an account. They open the link, or type the code at send.enzonic.com/receive, and download the files to drop straight into their session. For other files that bounce off mail servers, see files too big for email.
FAQ
Will my WAV or FLAC files be converted to MP3?
No. Enzonic Send never transcodes audio. Single files arrive unchanged, and multiple files arrive in a zip containing the originals.
How big is a WAV file?
It depends on sample rate, bit depth, channels and length. CD-quality stereo (44.1 kHz, 16-bit) works out to roughly 10 MB per minute; higher settings and more tracks multiply that.
Can I send a whole folder of stems?
Yes. Drag the folder in and it is zipped in the browser, keeping any subfolders. The recipient extracts one zip and gets every stem.
Should I convert WAV to FLAC before sending?
It can help. FLAC is lossless and usually smaller than WAV, so it can bring a transfer under the limit. Check the recipient's software can import it first.
How do I send a Logic Pro project?
A .logicx project is a package, which is technically a folder. Compress it in Finder first (right-click, Compress) and upload the resulting zip.
What is the size limit for audio files?
500 MB per transfer without an account and 2 GB per transfer with a free account.
